Type 630 steel plate is type 630 martensitic stainless steel that uses niobium. It should not be used at temperatures above 300 degrees celsius and for cryogenic service. Type 630 steel plate finds application in gate valves and nuclear waste processing.

Stainless Steel 17-4 PH can be forged, welded and formed. Machining may be formed in the solution-annealed state, or in the final heat treat condition. Desired mechanical properties such as ductility and strength can be achieved through heating the material at various temperatures.
